SA’s K53 Driving School strives to provide the best professional driving tuition, in Cape Town - to all novice drivers, according to a structured K53 test syllabus @ a cost of R 240.00 per hour. The method of training used assists the learner driver not only to pass the K53 drivers license test with ease but to ensure safer, confident and more competent drivers.

Driver training sessions:

We start out in the Yard as this is where the student will learn how to control and operate a vehicle properly. It is also the easiest section of the test to fail thus we want to ensure that the student pass the Yard section with confidence and ease.

Concentrating on the K53 fundamentals and observations whilst simultaneously working on clutch control, vehicle and speed control. The Alley Docking, Parallel Parking, 3Point Turn as well as normal day-to-day parking will be covered.

*Road work will be done in-between but mostly once we have covered the yard section.

As the student progress, each session will be done in accordance to where the student needs work.

The student will either me met closer to the parking area or collected from home/school/work, taken to the nearest parking area and dropped off after the training session. Please note that some of the parking areas do charge a fee of R50p/hour to make use of the facility. Notes will either be given to the learner driver or emailed after the first session to study at home.

The student’s progress:

A progress card will be filled in during every training session in order to keep track of the student’s progress. This will also enable the instructor and student to concentrate on sections of the syllabus that requires improvement. Feedback will be given to the student after every training session so that the students can practice at home as well. Progress reports can be sent/given to parents \ guardians \ employees \ partners on request.

Amount of lessons required and Test Evaluation Sessions:

The amount of training sessions depend on the student’s own capability but the average student requires ± 10hours of driver training depending on if they practice at home as well. Should the student feel confident to apply for the K53 drivers license test at a DLTC (Drivers License Testing Station), at any time during the training, a test evaluation session can be arranged to simulate the test. This is a 1/1.5 hour session and it would be preferred to meet the student directly at the nearest parking area. The student will be “mock tested” on the whole K53 test syllabus and feedback will be given afterwards.

Assisting with securing the test date:

We can assist with securing the test date @ a cost of R380.00. Should the student prefer a different testing station the fee will increase depending on the distance of the testing station. The student will be collected at home around 5/6am, driven to the testing station, assisted in the queues and dropped off after the test date has been secured. An additional fee of R168.00, payable to the testing station, must be taken along for the confirmation of the test date as well as the student’s I.D + copy, learners + copy and 4 black & white I.D photos.

Accompanying and Assistance on the day of the test:

The student will be collected two hours prior to the testing time to ensure traveling time. Once they arrive at the testing station and should there be enough time before the test, the instructor will allow the student to drive through the road test routes. (Please note that this is not a lesson, merely route preparation should time allow it.)

In order to accompany and assist the student on the day of the test a fee of R580.00 will be charged for Milnteron DLTC. Should the test be scheduled at a different testing station the fee will increase depending on the distance of the testing station.

An additional fee of R140.00, payable to the testing station, must be taken along for the issue of the drivers license card, as well as the student’s I.D , learners  and confirmation receipt (received on the day that the date was secured).

The student will be dropped off at home after the test.
